500 Done

I’m excited I had such an awesome group of people that joined me for the 500 challenge I put up in the last post!  Honestly I always want to get my abs ripped but am highly susceptible to slacking off with the core moves.  So I am glad I had this challenge to hold me accountable and for everyone else to also!

My workout was 30 minutes of high resistance elliptical (incline:15, resistance:12-14) and then I hit the gym floor for my abs session.

Here is how my 500 abs broke down:

  • 100 hanging leg abs
  • 25 crunches with med ball
  • 25 oblique crunches with med ball on right
  • 25 oblique crunches with med ball on left
  • 25 straight leg crunches w/ med ball
  • 50 bicycle crunches
  • 50 suitcase crunches
  • 25 toe touches
  • 25 heel to heel touches
  • 50 jackknifes
  • 50 russian twists with med ball
  • 50 alternating leg lifts

And that was it!  I threw in about 50 extra bicycle crunches at the end just for good measure in case I counted wrong.

Now I’m excited to go check out how everyone else did!  Below you can find the links of others who participated (or their twitter handles or names if they don’t have a blog) in the challenge.  If I left anyone out just leave your name/blog link in the comments below 🙂

So glad tomorrow is Friday.  I topped off my night with a yummy dinner…salmon salad made with reduced fat olive oil mayo and chopped celery over a bed of baby kale.

So easy to make and so good.  Now off to relax as usual before getting in bed.  I am really sleepy!!! Have a nice night 🙂

The 500 Challenge

My apologies for not blogging last night, but by the time I got back from the conditioning class and made myself dinner, it was around 9pm and I was ready for bed.  But let’s rewind the day because my late lunch was definitely worth noting.

I stopped by my favorite place, Wild Greens, to pick up something to eat because I was just craving one of their wraps or salads.  I got a the Wild Greens Vegan Wrap which had portobello mushrooms, avocado, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce and fat free lemon-basil dressing.

This wrap is so good.  I think it was gone in about 5 seconds.  Also, the kind person working offered me a free s’mores cookie.  A.Free.S’mores.Cookie.  How does one say no to a free s’mores cookie?  If you are me…you don’t/can’t.  It was one of the most wonderful cookies I had ever eaten in my life.

Well worth every bite!  I also ordered the Asian Tuna Salad…which is going to be my lunch today!  Already so excited for it.

After, I went out to burn off the cookie and some of Maverick’s endless energy with a 3 mile run plus 1 mile walk outside.  The weather was really nice and we both enjoyed getting outside for some fresh air.  I came back and topped my workout off with some p90x arms.  I am already feeling sore in my arms today!  Love it.  I really do love the sore feeling.  It’s the feeling of accomplishment 😉  Speaking of that…I have a little challenge for all of us.  But first I’ll show you Day four of the 7-day green smoothie challenge and then I’ll come back to that.

Today’s green smoothie had SO much green in it.  I jam packed as much kale and spinach into it as possible and kept adding after blending.  Since my blender isn’t exactly a high-powered machine, I just blend up what it can handle at a time and then keep adding in more as I go along.  After the first mix I added more kale and spinach and some strawberries.

All together, this is what the mix included:

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
  • handful ice cubes
  • 1 scoop GNC Superfoods Supreme
  • 3 huge sliced strawberries
  • 4 handfuls kale
  • 4 handfuls spinach

Not too shabby!  To top it all off, I had two of my One-A-Day VitaCraves chewy multi-vitamins, which just so happened to be green also.

Sorry for the blurry picture…apparently I need my other hand to help steady the camera.  But I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty full of vitamins and nutrients to start my Thursday.

THE 500 CHALLENGE

Now for this little mini-challenge!  I challenge you to get 500, yes FIVE HUNDRED, repetitions of abdominal work in today.  Any kind of ab moves you want.  Spread them out throughout the day or all together…whatever you want just get them all in today!  I’ll be doing it too and writing down every move and rep I did to get there, which I will put in tonight’s post.  Feel free to link up with me by leaving a comment/link on this post or just doing it on your own!  I will make a list of everyone who completed the challenge tonight so we can check out each other’s favorite ab moves and add those into my post as well.  If you need some ideas, you can check out my May Abs Challenge from last year.
