FITspiration Friday + Booty Booster Elliptical Workout

It’s that time again.  FRIDAY!!

I was up early to get a workout in at the gym at I got there promptly at 6am.  I did another elliptical workout because tomorrow I will be doing a longer-ish training run, probably around 7 miles, so I didn’t want to kill my legs too bad!  Instead, I decided to complete quite the booty-blasting elliptical routine.  I used this on a machine where you can change both the incline and resistance, but a lot of gyms only have the kind where you can change the resistance, but that would still be a good workout!

The workout was basically in the pattern of 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, with resistances at progressively harder levels from 8, 10, 12 to make one set.  Each set was done at inclines of 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20!  I did it all times 2 for an hour long super-sweaty workout.  Then later, my breakfast had a fun new addition to it.  Same protein overnight oats as usual, but topped with some sliced almonds today.  I’m a wild one!

The almonds provided a delicious crunch factor!

Cardio Core Circuit

Morning!  It is quite the dreary day here.  It’s cold and rainy and staying in bed all day would have probably been the best thing of all time.

That didn’t happen this morning, but a core-toning cardio circuit did!

This was one of my favorite at-home workouts that I’ve made up so far.  Almost every move required the core to be engaged and really worked that waistline!  If you are wondering what the “squat plus 2 hops” is, it’s really just jumping into squat position, then jumping back up, doing two quick hops with your feet together, and then repeating the move.  That is a booty booster and so were the booty lifters!  For those, I was on my hands and knees and I would raise one leg up to work those glutes! So the workout gives you some bonus butt moves, but if you do this circuit you will feel your core constantly working.  Especially on the alternating punches after the oblique crunches!

For moves such as oblique crunches, plank with dumbbell row, booty lifters, and the standing waistline crunches, I switched sides after 30 seconds.  And as for stairs, I just ran up and down the stairs in my townhouse!  1 minute let me get up and down the stairs about 8-10 times.

The entire workout took about 40 minutes, including some stretching at the end.

Now onto breakfast!  You can probably guess what it is…

I annihilated that breakfast.  It was gone in about 30 seconds I think.

Do you ever use stairs in your house to get in some exercise?  Back when I lived with my parents I would make myself go up and down the stairs 3 times every time I just needed to go up them once.  Burnt some extra calories 🙂

What kind of tricks do you have to sneak in exercise during the day?  I also sometimes do squats in my office…keep that blood flowin’!
