Playing catch-up

We will sort of be playing catch up on the ole bloggie this morning since I was rather lazy with my posting this weekend (aka just re-posting from Mike’s blog)

So let’s see….Saturday I got a package from an awesome Canadian reader chicka who played food package swapsies with me…I immediately dug into the dried strawberries and dark chocolate…

The dried strawberries were pretty much gummy candy…and I loved them!

Saturday night I went over to my friend Molly’s apartment…had a couple of glasses of wine…and then this happened:

Awesome.

Sunday morning I decided to start out on a more healthy note to balance out the entire box of brownie mix from the night before…

Oatmeal with egg whites and cinnamon.

I was super busy all day yesterday which is partly why I didn’t blog.  I was out and about getting things done!  I did, however, have the best dinner I’ve had in a long time!

Look at all those vegetables!  Squash, spinach, asparagus…with some brown rice and the most delicious chicken breast of all time!  I also spent lots of time yesterday evening watching the Real Housewives of Orange County reruns until the premiere of the new season came on last night.  As you know from previous posts the OC ladies are my favorites to watch so I was mindlessly entertained for a while.

The alarm clock came much to quickly this morning but I got up and tried to be excited for Monday morning!! I have to play mind games with myself sometimes 😉  I even curled my hair for work (which I never do, mostly because I’m too lazy but also because my hair barely will hold a curl for 2 minutes)

Mike’s mom gave me a fancy shmancy italian curling iron for my birthday so I used that…so far so good and the curls are actually holding without even using hair spray!  So we will see how it holds throughout the day…I’ll be pumped if the curls stay!

Needless to say I’m mighty comfy at my desk right now 🙂

For breakfast this morning I made a chocolate protein pancake by using chocolate protein powder instead of the usual vanilla (I’m out, wahh!) and I added some unsweetened cocoa powder for a more chocolatey taste.  I also had to put it in a tupperware to take it to work to eat

I took some greek yogurt as well to dip the pancake in but the rest is going to be for a snack

It’s Fage brand and I have to say I’m not crazy about it…it’s too bitter for me I think.  I much more prefer Chobani and their creamy deliciousness!

Also, I packed another snack in case I’m not in the mood to force feed myself Fage…one that I am rather excited about!  It may end up being more of a lunch instead of a snack but I might not be able to contain my excitement about eating it.

Do you curl or straighten your hair?  Is your hair naturally curly or straight? Mine is definitely straight and STRAIGHT up hates being curled…totally never cooperates but hopefully today that will change!

Do you have a favorite brand of greek yogurt?? I think mine is Chobani, but I like Oikos, too…it’s just a little more expensive with its organic-ness.

After work foods

Both on Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning I train people at the gym.  I work up an appetite just training other people I swear!  Its a extra little workout in itself.

After work last night all I wanted was a 5 dolla footlong from Subway so that’s exactly what I got 🙂

Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki on 9-oat honey grain bread with cucumbers, pickles, black olives, tomatoes (that weren’t good so I took them off), spinach, lite mayo, lite provolone cheese, and salt & pepper.

Yes I ate the whole thing…don’t hate.

Breakfast before working this morning was another protein pancake!!  I didn’t even know how much I was missing these (I used to make them everyyyy dayyyy last summer)…since I was going to eat it in the car on the way I just tore it into pieces, put it in a bowl, and put sugar free maple syrup on top of that.

It looks like I burnt it really badly but I think its just the shadows because it wasn’t burnt!!  It was so good 🙂

Then after work today I ran 3 miles on the treadmill before closing up…8:15 pace and incline 2 for all three miles…then had a ginorm salad for lunch.

Best salad I’ve ever made…not that I make a lot… 😉

And apparently mom found a new recipe for low calorie banana bread…100 calories a slice…this could be bad.  or good.  too good!

What is your food weakness?? I love banana bread, as I’m sure you all know!  And anything with dark chocolate…and frozen yogurt.  And cereal….ugh too many weaknesses haha!

What are you doing tonight?? I’ll be out being social YAY!!!  Maybe going out in Chapel Hill tonight although I feel like that may be the LAST place on earth a Duke Basketball fan should be the night of the Duke/Carolina game…so…we’ll see about that!

One more thing…I think I might run/walk more on the treadmill while I watch a movie on Netflix…What movie should I watch?? Gimme some good ideas!
