Our Walk

Scenes from our walk today…

Now that it stays light out until almost 8pm and it’s getting warmer, I think I will make evening walks a regular activity.  We love them 🙂

Hope your evening was enjoyable!

Gym, Food, Walk

After work today I drove straight to the gym on the way home.  I packed my gym bag last night so I’d have no excuse not to go, even if my legs still felt like death (which they do).  I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and was surprised I could do it as well as I did, but I kept the resistance lower than I usually do, around levels 7-10.  Once I was done with cardio, I went and completed another round of my 500 abs challenge.  I did a lot of similar moves as last time but some new ones also.

This is what the abs work looked like today:

  • 100 crunches on exercise ball
  • 100 oblique crunches on exercise ball (50 per side)
  • 50 bicycle crunches
  • 50 straight leg crunches with 8lb med ball
  • 25 toe touches
  • 25 suitcase crunches
  • 25 heel to heels
  • 25 reverse crunches
  • 50 oblique crunches on mat (25 per side)
  • 50 bicycle crunches

When I got back from the gym I was pretty hungry!  I made an egg, avocado, and cheese open face sandwich on whole wheat toast.  I used one whole egg and one egg white, 1/2 an avocado, and low fat colby jack cheese.

In case you wanted to know, I cooked that egg in the microwave.  In a mug.  I put the whole egg and egg white in the mug, covered with a paper towel, and heat for 45 seconds on high.  Just make sure it’s all cooked at the bottom…but the easiest way to cook eggs ever.

After my snack, Maverick and I headed out and did a nice hour-long walk.  I snapped some pics of cute houses here and there to document the walk.  I was not moving very fast, but a slow walk was actually really peaceful and enjoyable.

Now I’m planted on the couch.  I don’t know if it’s allergies or what, but my eyes are really having trouble staying open.  Might be an early night for me!  Looking forward to having my legs feel back to normal tomorrow … or almost at least!

Do you have a favorite afternoon snack??  Mine typically always involves peanut butter…but not today!  I let the avocados be the healthy fats 🙂
